Alejandro Montoya Marin is one of the most talented and passionate filmmakers you will ever meet. His latest movie, Millennium Bugs, is in full-blown production mode in Albuquerque, as he continues to make his mark on the local and international film scene.

Millennium Bugs, Alejandro’s second feature-length film, is a dramedy about two best friends who must make life changing decisions during the end of the world. Get your Millennium Bugs merch now folks, this one is going to be big and will most definitely get noticed!

Local filmmakers and directors: There are two options available to learn Alejandro’s secrets and tips on how to make a successful movie on a shoestring budget.  I highly recommend signing up for the 30 minute Skype consultation, or even better the virtual film school option offered for a limited time on the film’s Indiegogo campaign page. Rest assured, you’ll be learning from one of the best indie filmmakers in the state.

Alejandro’s first feature Monday, an action comedy, has aired multiple times on The El Rey network. He is one of just five directors in the country who were chosen to participate in the network’s filmmaking competition series Rebel Without a Crew. Competitors were selected and mentored by award winning director Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, From Dusk Till Dawn, Spy Kids, Once Upon a Time in Mexico).  Rodriguez’s iconic 1992 movie El Mariachi was made on a budget of just $7K and grossed over $2M at the box office.

The filmmakers in Rebel Without a Crew were challenged to make their own feature films with that now legendary $7K budget, in only 14 days.  It was through participating in this challenge that Alejandro made his first action-packed feature film, Monday, which premiered at the 2018 SXSW Festival and was screened to a sold-out audience at the SOHO International Film Festival.  Alejandro has been making movies, music videos and commercials since 2009.

As Millennium Bugs filming nears completion by the end of the month, Alejandro is already getting a third feature underway.

Such an impressive catalogue could not be produced without the support of a stellar production team and crew. The talented and dedicated production team of Millennium Bugs makes use of local talent.

Actress and producer Tiffany Sherie Neeley is one of the Founding Partners of 3Six Media Group. One of the most notable projects from the 3Six Media team is the highly anticipated pilot, Back to Earth, co-starring Bruno Gunn from West World and The Hunger Games. The trailer for the project is currently streaming via SYFY-Wire. Tiffany is also a producing partner at Hardline Films. One of her most recent collaborations being a project titled, Tumbleweed, where she worked with notable ASC Cinematographer, Dejan Georgevich.

The impressive production team also includes Allan Gaitirira and Tamas Nadas (Producers), Ryan Halsey who is General Manager of the largest local Grip & Lighting Rental house in New Mexico, Serious Grippage & Light, which became an integral tool in facilitating the creation of content (Director of Photography, Gaffer, Associate Producer), Jason R. Martinez (Producer) with years of experience in the industry, Charles Newman (Music Supervisor/Composer), Kenneth McGlothin (Associate Producer/ Assistant Director) who is a musician and actor, Tamas Nadas (Producer) owner of Busy Day Productions, and Daniel Pattison (Associate Producer).

Last but certainly not least, the movie would not have been able to be made without the financial support of the local filmmaking and acting community. This fundraising campaign was a success and with your help can go even further.  If you want to see your name in the closing credits with special thanks, consider donating and becoming a part of something destined for greatness.
